I wanna buy a small fish tank for my room what do i need?

i wanna buy a ten gallon tank at walmart and get some neon fish and see through frogs that live in all aquatic conditions. What do i need for this tank? i know i need rocks and a filter but what else would be good for like, one VERY small frog and about 5 or 6 of these small fish?? k thanks in advance :D

i have a 29 gallon tank i have a screen top ,water bowl,heat lamp and fluorescent light
im thinking about getting a snake i want a colorful snake so im thinking about milk or king snake i was at one of the pet shops in my neighborhood and there was a Mexican milk snake it was a quite big one about maybe 3 feet and pretty expensive almost 200$
i will have to visit the petland discount stores i dont like that chain store cause sometimes the pets that they have are sick but at least they have a 2 week guarantee on snakes and other reptiles

so im thinking about the california kingsnake i like its contrast coloring ( black and white )

also another thing will i need a heat mat?? because i did some research and on some websites i read that room temperature is fine for them
also as for the food they eat live mice right??? there is no way in hell that my mom will allow me to keep a frozen mice in the freezer
i have a fish tank so she freaks out hwne she sees frozen bloodworms ofr the fish so i cant imagine her reaction to a mouse i the freezer

also one more thing
do they bite???and will a care fresh begging be a good substrate to sue for the snake?? i have a rabbit so i usually buy a big pack of that being as its really good its made from recycled newspaper
and one more thing
is it better to get an older snake or a baby ???

sorry about the length of it but i just wanna be sure what im getting myself into before going and getting it

How often should I clean my fish tank?

I have a 2.5 gallon fish tank and 3 very small fish that won’t get much larger. I have a filter, gravel, and 2 small plants in there. It’s all brand new so I havent put my fish in the new tank yet. It says the filter should operate 24 hours prior to putting the fish in the tank. How often should I clean it once my fish are in there?
the fish are a 3/4 inch goldfish (who is about to die), a 1 1/4 inch black moor (who according to the salesman won’t grow more than a 1/2 inch bigger), and a 1/2 inch longfin rosy barb
